Home Boys is a beautiful project made by Teacher Deborah Hare & Photographer Deborah Hare. After rising fatal shootings of young men in the early 1990s in New Haven and across the wider United States, Hare decided to give these boys a voice. Taking intimate portraits with accompanying interviews as life as young men in a community growing increasingly difficult for them to thrive in. Homeboys records teenage boys' thoughts, dreams and fears in 1992 and attempts to break down negative teenage stereotypes.
