Skins & Punks is an intimate document of what it was like growing up in the 1980s. Margaret Thatcher was the prime minister; the Falklands War raged, and unemployment and social unrest dominated the headlines. It was a mess. Amidst all this chaos, gangs of kids in the working-class suburbs went along with their lives, listening to ska and punk music while pretending the outside world doesn't exist. Gavin Watson was one of those kids. This is his story and the story of the nation in photographs
